Manchos Ranch Hands

Here is Smiley, my Manchos Ranch Hand, from Manchos, Colorado. I met him when my husband, daughter and I reserved time to ride his horses. After riding the country side, he gave me permission to take his photos for paintings. He already was an expert at modeling since being the subject of a prominent photographer living in Colorado.

This painting was originally painted at the end of 1990. After viewing it so many times as it hung either at home or in my tent at outdoor shows, I realized what was wrong with it.  So, out of the frame it came. The cowboy walking out the door way was cleaned out. In 2009 Manchos Ranch Hands was accepted into the Ohio Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition 31^st Watercolor Ohio receiving the Silver Medal

Award, Cheng-Khee Chee Juror. Never listen to others when they say, just leave it in the frame and paint something else. If your skills improve, you can improve your painting.
